Visit High Point
I developed a large destination marketing website for the city of High Point. Hundreds of destination locations and pages were converted from a previous Drupal website.
Tasks included
- Define the scope of the project, including features and services
- Develop WordPress website incorporating 3rd party functionality
- Formatted and supported onsite kiosks
- Write HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code when required for functionality
- Ensure scalability and reliability of the website
- Test website functionality across different devices and browsers
- Configure server settings and regularly update content and features as needed
- Continually supported new features and content as primary webmaster

Visit High Point is a destination marketing organization that drives travel to create ongoing economic impact and vitality for the High Point Region’s people, businesses and communities in which we serve. I have continued ongoing support with content updates, security updates, and functionality desires, most recently connecting online forms to their Simpleview CRM.

Tools and Technology
Website tools and technology have evolved continually, shaping the way we create, manage, and interact with content. From content management systems (CMS) like WordPress and Umbraco to e-commerce platforms like Shopify and WooCommerce, these tools simplify website development and maintenance. Moreover, advancements in web technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3, as well as JavaScript frameworks like jQuery and React have enabled the creation of highly interactive and visually appealing websites. I regularly use these tools and technologies on websites I design. I am also continually researching new methods to create more robust web experiences.
